The NHL Fantasy “Power Play” — 11.8.22

Hey hockey fans, my name is Jake and I’m excited to be a new addition to RotoRadar as I provide NHL picks for the 2022-23 regular season! I hope this year we can all collaborate through the RR Discord and other socials to nail home some unseen/money making props and other bets. BIG 11 game slate tonight. 4/6 teams that played last night have games tonight as well and all of them are on the road, so tonight we’re looking for home teams to take advantage of some tired legs. The RotoRadar Fantasy Power Play has gone 7-2 this year in picks/props and looking to stay hot. Here are some picks that stood out to me heading into a big Tuesday night as the NHL season is in full swing.

Selections for Tuesday, November 8th, 2022

New Jersey Devils -130 vs. Calgary Flames

Calgary heads into the Prudential Center on the 2nd half of a road back-to-back. These teams played on Saturday and the Metropolitan division leading Devils won 4-3 in OT. New Jersey remains in the top 5 of almost all power rankings around the web and should be able to handle a team that hasn’t been on the road much at all this year. The Huberdeau addition for Calgary hasn’t gone exactly to plan for the team and New Jersey hasn’t given up more than 3 goals in the last 3 weeks. This is where home ice counts. Devils money line all day.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. St. Louis Blues Under 6.5 Total Goals

Neither team’s defense has been outstanding so far this year, but the offenses aren’t all that thrilling either. Philly is dead last in their division in G/GM and the Blues are second-last in the same category in their division. Flyers goaltending has looked above average (Carter Hart has been standing on his head as of late) and both of these teams rank in the bottom ten in Shots/GM. This one’s gonna be a clunker, might as well make it profitable.

Philadelphia Flyers +105 Money Line

Quite the shock Philly is an underdog here. While the Flyers haven’t been playing hockey at any level worth writing home about, the Blues look even worse. Blues are playing the second half of a road back-to-back tonight after a game against one of the best teams in the league in Boston, so expect them to come into tonight’s game with tired legs after testing themselves against the Bruins.

Dallas Stars @ Winnipeg Jets Over 6 Total Goals

Awesome game here with the No. 1 and 2 teams in the Central Division. Both teams are in the top half of the league in G/GM and Dallas leads the league in team Shooting percentage. Dallas lost an absolute stud in Goalie Jake Oettinger due to a lower body injury and he’s expected to be out a few weeks. Stars forward Jason Robertson was named the NHL’s first star of the week last week. Although it was only 2 games against struggling teams, Winnipeg won both games last week and is looking to heat up this season after a less-than-stellar start. Expect some high-octane hockey here and well over 6 goals.

Seattle Kraken Puck line (-1.5 G) vs. Nashville Predators

Seattle starts a two week homestand hosting a Nashville team that is taking a bit of time getting into the swing of things this year. The Kraken are riding a 4 game win streak where they are top 10 in both G/GM and PP% this year. Goalie Martin Jones has also been a pleasant surprise in net so far. Nashville IS on a 2 game win streak, with one of them being against a solid Calgary team, but they are still averaging less than 3 G/GM this season. Pred’s Goalie Jusse Saros hasn’t necessarily been a wall in net, and Nashville’s young talent has been slow to get going say the least this year. Seattle shouldn’t have a hard time winning by multiple goals here.

Mark Stone Over .5 Goals @ Toronto Maple Leafs

No surprise here. Stone is averaging 20 minutes of ice time per game and hasn’t gone 2 consecutive games without scoring a point all season. Look for him to be around the net early and often as Vegas looks to extend their win streak to 7 games. As long as Stone keeps making the hockey happen, I’m gonna make sure to make my wallet happen.
